How Is GigaComm Different To The NBN?

The GigaComm Difference

The NBN was supposed to deliver ultra-fast internet across Australia. However, it has failed to deliver this consistently and reliably. In a recent report, the Australian Consumer and Competition Commission found that over a quarter of NBN customers weren't receiving the speed they were supposed to be receiving.

At GigaComm, we are rolling out a fully independent network that is capable of providing much greater speeds and lower latency than the NBN – all at affordable prices. We use a combination of the latest fibre and wireless technologies to deliver our next-generation Gigabit services.

The GigaComm Network

Our network uses an advanced, high capacity millimetre wave (mmWave) to connect homes and businesses across Australia to the internet.

mmWave is a short-range, high-frequency wave. As the mmWave has a shorter wavelength, it can hold more data and this makes the mmWave ideal for the modern, ultra-fast internet we all need to work, learn, stream, and play games online!

Our independent network is entirely separate from the NBN. Incorporating mmWave fixed wireless, we deliver the typical high performance, speed and reliability you achieve with fibre but without the cost, time and delays of laying cables.

Also because we are independent of the NBN, we’re not weighed down by the NBN wholesale costs that other internet providers have to pay.

As a result, we’re able to deliver fast, affordable internet with fantastic customer service.

This network, or Air Web, depends upon a system of mmWave nodes that broadcast reliable and fast internet wirelessly to its users. The GigaComm network places network points on the tops of buildings or at street-level assets, such as lights. These network points then relay our mmWave beams to create a multi-point network.

While it leverages the same advanced technology as 5G, GigaComm uses a higher capacity millimetre wave spectrum to provide fixed high-speed internet.

Unlike 5G you won’t have to compromise between speed and download limits. GigaComm’s technology removes these constraints so you can have ultra-fast, symmetrical Gigabit speeds AND unlimited data.

Due to its reliance on copper wiring and fibre, the NBN is unable to deliver consistent speeds to Australians. However, GigaComm’s mmWave Air Web network allows GigaComm to avoid the bottleneck of internet speed found in the copper wiring of the NBN.

As a result, GigaComm delivers ultra-fast internet speeds up to 15x faster than the Australian average.

GigaComm provides great value Gigabit Internet, delivered over our revolutionary network.
